Free quote generator: common questions

Is this quote generator really free?
Yes, free to use, with no account and no trial clock. We ask for your email address once, when you download or print, and that one email unlocks downloads across every KAZI free tool on this device. Free downloads include one small "Created free with KAZI" line in the PDF footer; a free KAZI account removes it. If you later want quotes that send themselves, collect an online acceptance and convert to a paid invoice automatically, that is what a KAZI account adds; the generator itself is free forever.
What is the difference between a quote and an estimate?
A quote is a fixed-price offer that is binding while it is valid; an estimate is an approximation that can change as the work becomes clearer. This tool works for both: set a "valid until" date for a quote, or note in the terms that the figures are an estimate. Either way the client sees line items, tax and a clear total.
Can I convert my quote into an invoice?
Yes, in one click. The "Convert to invoice" button opens the free KAZI invoice generator with your business details, client, line items, tax and discount already filled in. Your quote stays saved in this browser too.
Does it handle South African VAT on quotes?
Yes. With ZAR selected the tool defaults to 15% VAT (the South African standard rate) and applies any discount before tax. If you are not VAT registered, untick the registration box and the quote shows no VAT line at all.
Is my quote data uploaded or stored anywhere?
Your quote document stays in your browser: the PDF is built on your device and is never uploaded. When you unlock a download we save your email and the business details you entered to personalise your KAZI setup: your business name, the currency, your tax settings and the quote total as a range, plus the item count. We never save your client’s name or email. A draft autosaves to this browser only, so a reload does not lose your work.
How long should a quote stay valid?
30 days is the common default and what this tool pre-fills, but shorter validity (7 to 14 days) creates urgency and protects you when input costs move. The valid-until date prints on the PDF in its own highlighted line so there is no ambiguity later.
