Creating Your First Invoice
Kazi's invoice system supports multiple invoice types, currencies, partial payments, and automated reminders. Here is how to create and send your first invoice.
Step 1: Navigate to Invoices
Click Invoices in the sidebar. You will see the invoice dashboard with tabs for All, Draft, Sent, Paid, and Overdue invoices. Click New Invoice to get started.
Step 2: Fill in Invoice Details
Select or create a client, then add line items with descriptions, quantities, and rates. Kazi calculates totals automatically, including tax if configured. You can also pull items from your Product Library — a saved catalog of your common services and rates.
Step 3: Customize and Preview
Choose your invoice type (standard, estimate, credit memo, or retainer), set payment terms, and add any notes. Click Preview to see exactly what your client will receive, including the PDF version with your logo and branding.
Step 4: Send the Invoice
Hit Send to email the invoice directly to your client. They will receive a link to the Client Payment Portal where they can view the invoice, download the PDF, and pay online via credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or ACH transfer (powered by Stripe).
Tracking Payments
Once sent, Kazi tracks when the client views the invoice and sends automatic reminders for overdue payments. You can also record manual payments (cash, check, bank transfer) from the invoice detail page.
