How your bank data is handled. KAZI connects to your bank through regulated aggregators: Plaid for banks in the US, Canada, the UK and Europe. Access is strictly read-only, KAZI never moves money, and your banking credentials are entered with your bank via the aggregator, never with KAZI.
Where live coverage does not exist yet, KAZI never asks for your bank login. You export a statement (CSV/OFX) from your own banking app and import it, with guided column mapping. Statement data stays in your KAZI workspace under row-level security, and imported accounts always show an honest "as of" timestamp rather than pretending to be live.

How does KAZI connect to my bank?
Through Plaid, a trusted bank-data aggregator for banks in the US, Canada, the UK and Europe, and the same service used by many of the financial apps you already know. You authenticate directly with your bank (including OAuth banks like Chase); KAZI receives read-only access tokens and never sees or stores your banking credentials. Plaid processes data under the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. In countries Plaid does not cover, you can import bank statements (CSV/OFX) instead, on any plan.
Can KAZI move money in my account?
No. Access is strictly read-only: KAZI imports balances and transactions, nothing more, and it can never move, transfer or withdraw funds. You can disconnect a bank at any time, which revokes the token at Plaid and stops all syncing while preserving your imported history.
How are transactions categorized?
Three layers: your own rules run first (match merchant, description or amount by contains, equals, starts-with, regex or thresholds), then Plaid’s category data, then AI classification that uses your historical categorizations as context. Correcting a category creates a merchant rule automatically.
How does invoice matching work?
Every inflow is scored against your open invoices by exact/near amount, client name in the description, invoice number and how close the posting date is to the due date. High-confidence matches are proposed; you confirm, and the invoice is marked paid (partial payments supported, FX-aware).
What happens to outflows?
Any debit can become a real expense in one click. Merchant, amount, date, currency and a derived category are carried over, the expense stores the originating bank transaction in its metadata, and the feed row is marked reconciled so nothing is double-counted.
Which plan includes bank feeds?
Live bank feeds start on the Starter plan at $19 per month, which includes 2 connected banks. Pro ($49/month) includes 5 connected banks, Business ($99/month) 10, and Studio ($249/month) 25. Statement import (CSV/OFX) is available on every plan, including Free, and every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial.
What if my bank is not covered by live feeds?
KAZI never pretends coverage it does not have. Where live aggregator feeds are not available, statement import is a first-class product: export a CSV or OFX statement from your banking app and guided column mapping does the rest. Imported transactions get the same rules, AI categorization, invoice matching and one-click expenses as live feeds, and duplicate detection means re-importing an overlapping statement never double-counts.
